Aaron Bracy has covered sports in Philadelphia for nearly 30 years. He was a sportswriter and editor for the Trenton Times, Courier-Post, and The Trentonian. Bracy began his journalism career as a freelancer for the Associated Press while still an undergraduate at Saint Joseph’s University and has contributed regularly to the AP since 2008. Bracy also spent 11 years as a classroom teacher and has worked as a content creator and editor in educational publishing since 2020. His website, Big5Hoops.com, is devoted to covering the Philadelphia Big 5. A Soaring Season is his first book.
Sheilah Vance, Esq. grew up on Rebel Hill in Gulph Mills, Pennsylvania and currently resides in Washington, D.C. She has written and presented extensively about the Philadelphia Campaign of the Revolutionary War. A practicing attorney and higher education administrator, Vance has a BA from Howard University School of Communications and a JD from Georgetown University.

Will Caverly writes about history and the outdoors from his home in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Will has been featured in magazines like Bee Culture, Root Quarterly, Front Porch Republic, and PA Game News. He’s the author of the Mercenary Pen blog and Here, the Bees Sting, a beekeeping thriller.

Peter Schmitz is an actor, podcaster and theater historian. Working for many years as a professional actor, in his early career he was based in both New York City and Minnesota. He relocated to the Philadelphia area some twenty years ago. At present, he is an Adjunct Professor in the Theater Department of Temple University, and also works as an actor and dialect coach in the Philadelphia theater community.
Peter researches, writes and narrates the podcast Adventures in Theater History: Philadelphia.


Melissa Ziobro is the Director of Public History at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ. She also serves as the Curator of the campus’s Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music. She was the last Command Historian at Fort Monmouth, NJ, prior to the base’s closure in 2011.
She is available for lectures, book signings, podcast and radio appearances to discuss the fort’s and New Jersey history.
Lenny Wagner is the President of the Historical Society of Moorestown, NJ and has been the curator of several of the organization’s most popular exhibits including “Sports Legends of Moorestown” which was presented in 2010. It was during the preparation for this exhibit that he first became acquainted with the story of Walter French. He is also a member of the Society of American Baseball Research (SABRE) and is a contributor to the organization’s biography project. He lives in Moorestown, NJ with his wife Cheryl.

Jennifer L. Green graduated from University of Delaware with majors in anthropology and history, and earned her Master’s degree in American History at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She has conducted research and written for websites like ExplorePAHistory.com and the Encyclopedia of Greater Philadelphia and has worked at historic sites throughout Chester and Delaware counties.
