Brookline Books commissions history and general nonfiction books concerning the Greater Philadelphia region, including neighboring states New Jersey and Delaware. We are dedicated to highlighting the lives of Pennsylvanians—both common and renowned—and notable events that deserve to sit on the history shelves of readers around the world.
As an imprint of Casemate Publishers, we have a reputation for producing high-quality, informative and engaging books.
We are currently seeking trade nonfiction proposals for biographies and general history. We are not currently considering fiction books at this time. If you have a history to share concerning the Greater Delaware Valley, we’re interested in hearing more from either you or your agent!
We receive many unsolicited book-length submissions. While we always welcome new submissions, we ask that you do not send us a complete manuscript. Instead, please download and complete our submission form, then attach it via email to Brookline’s commissioning editor, Jennifer Green.
If your book sounds like something we might like to publish, we’ll get in touch. Please be aware that we receive a high volume of proposals and unfortunately cannot reply to proposals immediately. We aim to respond with an update about your proposal within two months. As part of that response, we may ask for further information about your project, or sample text.
